Key Features
Everything Built Into This Card Type
A complete set of capabilities — all accessible through the Fyatu Card Issuing API.
Auto-Cancel on First Use
The moment a one-time card is authorized for any transaction, Fyatu immediately marks the card as spent and cancels it at the network level — regardless of whether the full pre-loaded amount was consumed. The PAN, expiry, and CVV become non-functional after that single authorization event. This is enforced at the card product layer, not your application code, so there is no race condition or edge case where a card can be charged twice. Any un-spent balance is automatically returned to your program wallet.
Instant Digital Issuance
One-time cards are generated and returned in a single synchronous API call with a median latency under 500ms — the full card object (PAN, expiry, CVV, card ID) is available in the response body immediately. There is no asynchronous job, no polling loop, and no secondary API call to retrieve credentials. Bulk issuance is supported via a batch endpoint that accepts an array of card creation requests and returns all credentials in one response, enabling you to pre-issue thousands of cards in seconds for campaign launches or payroll runs.
Pre-Set Spend Cap
Each one-time card is loaded with an exact amount at issuance — the card will not authorize any transaction that exceeds the loaded balance. This makes each card a fully self-contained payment instrument: no top-up, no overdraft, and no possibility of the recipient spending more than your program intended. Set the load amount in any supported currency at the time of card creation.
Short-Lived Expiry
Set card expiry windows as short as one hour or as long as 90 days. A card that expires without being used auto-cancels and its balance sweeps back to your program float automatically — preventing dormant card balances from accumulating across large issuance volumes.
Full Webhook Lifecycle
Receive structured webhook events for authorization, cancellation, expiry, and balance sweep — giving your platform a complete audit trail for every card issued. Build real-time spend dashboards, trigger fulfilment workflows on first use, or alert your team the moment a card is spent or expires unused.
Use Cases
Who Issues One Time Card
Industries and platforms building with this card type through the Fyatu Card Issuing API.
Vendor Payments
Issue a single-use card per invoice — load the exact invoiced amount and share credentials with the supplier. The card auto-cancels after payment, eliminating the risk of double billing or unauthorized future charges against the same card number.
Ad Campaign Budgets
Issue one card per ad platform per campaign with a pre-set budget. The card auto-expires at campaign end, preventing overspend and removing the need to manually revoke platform access to a shared card.
Secure Online Shopping
Give end users disposable card credentials for each purchase — protecting their real card number from merchant data breaches, subscription traps, and dark patterns that charge stored credentials after trial periods.
Employee Expenses
Issue per-trip or per-purchase expense cards loaded with an exact approved amount. The card self-destructs after the expense is settled, leaving a clean audit trail with zero reconciliation overhead.
Incentives & Rewards
Distribute one-time reward cards for surveys, referrals, and loyalty milestones. Each card is single-use, preventing re-use fraud while giving recipients the flexibility to spend at any Visa or Mastercard merchant.
API & Integration Testing
Issue throwaway card credentials in your sandbox or staging environment to test payment flows end-to-end without touching production card stock. One-time semantics ensure test cards cannot be re-used across test runs.
