How Passkeys Work
A passkey is a cryptographic key pair stored securely on your device. When you sign in:
- Fyatu asks your device to verify your identity
- You authenticate with Face ID, fingerprint, or your device PIN
- Your device signs the request with your private key — it never leaves your device
- Fyatu verifies the signature and logs you in instantly
The entire process takes less than two seconds. There is nothing to type, nothing to intercept, and nothing to steal.

Passkeys are bound to the specific website or app, so they cannot be tricked by fake login pages. They are the gold standard in authentication security.
Setting Up Your Passkey on Fyatu
- Open the Fyatu app and go to Security Settings
- Tap “Set up Passkey”
- Authenticate with your device biometrics
- Done — your passkey is created and synced across your devices
On iOS, your passkey syncs through iCloud Keychain. On Android, it syncs through Google Password Manager. You can use the same passkey on your phone, tablet, and laptop.
What About Existing Login Methods?
Your current password and two-factor authentication still work. Passkeys are an additional option — you can choose which method to use each time you sign in. We recommend switching to passkeys for the fastest and most secure experience.
