We are proud to announce that Fyatu has crossed the 1,000,000 registered users milestone. What started in 2020 as a simple way for people in the DR Congo to access virtual cards has grown into a full financial platform serving users in over 180 countries.

How We Got Here
2020 — The Beginning
Fyatu launched with a single product: USD virtual cards for users in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The problem was simple — millions of people had no way to pay online. We gave them a card in under two minutes.
2021 — Expanding Across Africa
We opened to users across Central and West Africa, added Mastercard alongside Visa, and launched mobile money deposits. Demand grew faster than we expected.
2022 — Building for Business
We launched our Card Issuing API, letting other companies issue Fyatu-powered cards to their own users. The Collections and Payouts APIs followed, turning Fyatu into infrastructure that other businesses could build on.
2023 — Going Global
Physical cards shipped to doorsteps across Africa. eSIMs launched for travelers. We added EUR and GBP card currencies. Fyatu was no longer just an African fintech — it was a global financial tool built from Africa.
2024 — Scale and Trust
We crossed 650,000 users, added Apple Pay and Google Pay support, and achieved PCI DSS Level 1 compliance. The Business Dashboard launched, giving companies full control over their card programs and payouts.
2025 — One Million
Passkey authentication, API V3, cross-platform interoperability, and a completely redesigned user experience. One million users and growing.
